The Baburnama also known as the Tuzuk-i-Baburi or the Memoirs of Babur is the autobiography of Zahiruddin Muhammad Babur. It constitutes a first-rate account of Babur’s own career and the history of his times.

The term Falus was used for coins of some other dynasties including Bijapur sultanate, Jaunpur sultanate etc. The other three terms are used for coins of Vijayanagara empire. The earlier Vijayanagara coinage were produced in different mints and were called by different names such as Barkur gadyanas, Bhatkal gadyanas, etc. The inscriptions were in Kannada or Sanskrit. Images found are a double-headed eagle holding an elephant in each beak and claw, a bull, an elephant and various Hindu deities. The gold varahan coin issued by Krishna Deva Raya (1509–1529) had a seated Vishnu on one side and a three-line legend Shri Pratap Krishna Raya in Sanskrit on the other side.

Ibadat-i-Jahangiri is not a name for Jahangir’s autobiographical work. However, it is known by many names such as Tarikh-i-Salim Shahi, Kmatama-i-Jahangiri, Waqiat-i-Jahangiri, Dayaz-i-Jahangiri, Iqbalnama, Jahhangirinama, and Maqalat-i-Jahangiri. The version of the memoirs which has been accepted as authentic was written by Jahangir himself and it covers his reign.

Muhammad Qazim was appointed Munshi by Aurangzeb in the first year of his reign and was later on commissioned by the emperor to complete the annals of his reign. After the eleventh year, up to which point Muhammad Qazim recorded his history, Aurangzeb forbade its continuation. On the manuscript being shown to Aurangzeb, he withdrew his permission for the preparation of this official history. Alamgirnama is a good detailed history of the first ten years of Aurangzeb’s reign from 1658 to 1668.

Iqta was introduced by Delhi sultan Iltutmish while Jagir was introduced by Mughals . Under Iqta system , the land of the empire was divided into several large and small tracts called Iqta and assigned these Iqta to his soldiers , officers and nobles.

Tarikh-i-Guzidah written by Hamdullah Mastauti Qazwini in the early fourteenth century and is known for its impressive account of the general history of the East. It also gives a brief but fairly accurate account of the Ghaznavids, Shansabanis, Ghurids, and the sultans of Delhi.

The Qanun-i Humayuni which is also called Humayun Namah was composed in 1534 CE by Khvandamir who was one of the officials under Humayun’s patronage. The memoir is an eyewitness account of Humayun’s reign.

The Tabaqat-i-Nasiri which was compiled in 1260 CE by the author Minhaj-i-Siraj and it gives a complete account of Muhammad of Ghur’s conquest of India and the history of the Delhi Sultanate up to 1260 CE.

Khwaja Abu Malik Isami is the author of Futuh-al-Salatin is yet another elaborate account of the Delhi Sultanate. It consists of almost 12,000 verses. The Futuh-us-Salatin is a history of Muslim rule in India until 1349-50.

Mughal Emperor Babur’s daughter, Gulbadan Banu Begum wrote an account of her brother’s life, the Ahval-i HumayunBadshah or the Humayun Nama. The work throws light a feminist perspective and also raises questions on the genre of history writing.
