Question
Which one of the following is not a feature of North Indian temple architecture?
Options:
A .  Garbha Griha
B .  Gopuram
C .  Pradakshina-path
D .  Shikhara
Answer: Option B
Answer: (b) Gopuram is not a feature of north Indian temple architecture. In the north, the Shikhara remains the most prominent element of the temple and the gateway is usually modest. In the south, enclosure walls were built around the whole complex and along these walls, ideally set along the east-west and north-south axes, elaborate and often magnificent gateways called Gopurams led the devotees into the sacred courtyard.
