Question
What will happen when we mix vegetable oil, corn syrup and water in a glass?
Options:
A .  Corn syrup will be the uppermost layer, vegetable oil will be the middle layer and the water will be the bottom layer.
B .  Water will be the uppermost layer, vegetable oil will be the middle layer and the corn syrup will be the bottom layer.
C .  Vegetable oil will be the uppermost layer, water will be the middle layer and the corn syrup will be the bottom layer.
D .  Corn syrup and the vegetable oil mix together and the water will be the bottom layer.
Answer: Option C
:
C
The density of corn syrup, vegetable oil and water is in the order:
Corn syrup > Water > Vegetable Oil.
The less dense material will float on top of the more dense material.
Thus, vegetable oil will be the uppermost layer followed by water in the middle and corn syrup being at the bottom layer.
