Question
Which of the following is a correct joining sentence for the two sentences below?
The problem was very difficult. I managed to solve it.(A) As the problem was difficult .....(B) I managed to solve the problem for .....(C) Thought the problem was difficult .....
Options:
A .  Only A
B .  Only B
C .  Only C
D .  A and B
E .  B and C
Answer: Option C

The two given sentences suggest a contrasting idea. 'Though it was difficult, I managed to solve it'. Hence, conjunctions like 'though', 'but', etc.. can present the idea meaningfully. The use of 'as' or 'for' distorts the meaning.
