The perimeter of a square is twice the perimeter of a rectangle. If the perimeter of the square is 56 cms. and the length of the rectangle and the side of the square?
Options:
A .  7 cms
B .  9 cms
C .  11 cms
D .  5 cms
E .  None of these
Answer: Option B


Perimeter of square = 4 * Side

=>Side = 56/4  =  14cm.

Perimeter of rectangle  = 56/2  = 28cm

Breadth = 28/2 - 9 = 5 cm

Required difference = 14- 5 = 9cm
