Options:
A .  By changing O2 into CO2
B .  By destroying haemoglobin
C .  By forming a stable compound with haemoglobin
D .  By obstructing the reaction of O2  with haemoglobin
Answer: Option C
:
C
Carbon monoxide is produced by the burning of fuel in cars, trucks, fireplacesetc. It could accumulateindoors and couldpoison people and animals who inhaleit. Once carbon monoxide is inhaled, it enters the bloodstream and mixes with haemoglobin to form a stable compound, carboxyhaemoglobin. Whenthis happens, haemoglobin canno longer carry oxygen to the tissues. This lack of oxygen causes death of thecells and tissues.
