Question

Calculate the force between two point masses of 50 kg and 100 kg separated by a distance of 10 m.

Options:
A .   444.5×1010 N
B .   3.335×109 N
C .   6.67×1010 N
D .   2.27×1011 N
Answer: Option B
:
B

Given, mass of first body, m1=50 kg and mass of second body, m2=100 kg
Distance between the two masses is, r=10 m.
According to Universal law of gravitation, force of attraction between two bodies is
F=Gm1m2r2
where, G is the gravitational constant and G=6.67×1011 Nm2kg2
F=6.67×1011×50×100102
F=33.35×1010 N
F=3.335×109 N
