Question

The gravitational force of attraction between two bodies of masses 40 kg and 80 kg separated by a distance of 15 m is:
(Take Gravitational constant, G=6.673×1011Nm2kg2)

Options:
A .   9.49×1010 N
B .   8.49×1010 N
C .   7.49×1010 N
D .   6.49×1010 N
Answer: Option A
:
A

Given:
mass of first body m1=40 kg
mass of second body m2=80 kg
 distance between two bodies, R=15 m
 G=6.673×1011Nm2kg2

Acc. to Newton's law of gravitation, Gravitational force, F=Gm1m2R2

So, F=6.673×1011×40×80152

On solving, we get F=9.49×1010 N
