Let X,Y be the two types of sugars. Then s.p of the X type= c.p × p% = 5×1.1 = 5.5 & s.p of the Y type = c.p × p% = 4×1.1= 4.4. and also given the s.p of the mixture be Rs 5/ kg. Therefore,
Now by alligation and mixture
5.5. 4.4
5
0.6. 0.5
Therefore ratio of mix be 0.6:0.5
I.e., 6:5.
