The string is wrapped equally around the cube 4 times.

So the part ab = A/4. The hypotenuse of the triangle $\sqrt{(A^{2}) + \frac{A^{2}}{16}}$ The length of the string is four times this hypotenuse.

$\frac{4 \times (\sqrt{17} A)}{4} = \sqrt{17} A$

Hence Ans: b
