Question
‘a’ and ‘b’ are any two distinct numbers belonging to the set {1,2,3,4,5,6}. How many ratios of the form  ab can be formed which are not integers.
Options:
A .  19
B .  20
C .  22
D .  24
Answer: Option C
:
C
For each A selected there are five ways of selecting a B.. There are total 30 ratios that can be formed. Now for ‘1’ there are 5 numbers that can come in the numerator to form an integer.
For 2 there are 2 numbers and for 3 there is only one.
Therefore 30-5-2-1= 22 is the answer.
