Air expands on heating. Hot air molecules have more kinetic energy, so they have more space between them than cool air molecules. Therefore, when we heat air, it expands to allow more space for the molecules. If air is cooled, it contracts because cool air molecules have less kinetic energy. 

Wind is air in motion. It is produced by uneven heating of the earth's surface by the sun. Since the earth's surface is made of land and water, it absorbs the sun's radiation unevenly. 

In the kite, flag and paper-piece experiment, the force which is responsible for the action is the pressure exerted by the wind. While considering the magnet example we can see that the force taken into consideration is magnetic in nature, hence this experiment cannot be used to determine the direction of wind.

A cyclone is defined as a large volume of air mass that rotates around the centers of low pressure. This is usually characterized by inward spiraling winds that rotate counterclockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere of the earth.

The parts near equator receive direct light from the Sun. So they are heated the most. The equator is an imaginary line drawn around the earth equidistant from both the poles, dividing the earth into northern and southern hemispheres.

The perceptible natural movement of the air, especially in the form of a current of air blowing from a particular direction is called wind, in simple words moving air is defined as wind.
