Using midpoint formula we get the coordinates of the points A and B as (6, 0) and (0, 4) respectively.

Therefore, using intercept form of the striaght line, the equation of line AB is $\frac{x}{6} + \frac{y}{4} = 1$
$\Rightarrow 2 x + 3 y = 12$
