∴x+ 2y= 500... (i)
Now, Bharat's percentage score in the written test is given by,
40+54+70+804 = 61%
∴61x100+76y100+83y100 = 68.4 ×500100
∴ 61x + 159y = 34200 ........(ii)
Multiplying (i) by 61 and subtracting from (ii), we get,
37y = 3700
∴y = 100
∴x = 300
∴x:y = 3:1
