therefore, altitude of the triangle will be= x+7 units
ATQ
area=1/2*base*height
30=1/2*x*(x+7)
2(30)=x(x+7)
60=xsq.+7x
xsq+7x-60=0
xsq+12x-5x-60=0
x(x+12)-5(x+12)=0
(x-5) (x+12)=0
x=5 [ as the length of the base cannot be negative]
Hence, base of the triangle is 5 units and altitude is 12 units(x+7=5+7=12)
