$\frac{3}{x + 1} = \frac{6}{5 x - 1}$
On cross multiplication, we get
$\Rightarrow 3 (5 x - 1) = 6 (x + 1) \Rightarrow 15 x - 3 = 6 x + 6 \Rightarrow 9 x = 9 \Rightarrow x = 1$
