Question
Assertion: Eukaryotic cells have more DNA than prokaryotic cells.
Reason: Eukaryotic cells are genetically more complex than prokaryotic cells.
Options:
A .  Both the assertion and reason are true and the reason is the correct explanation for assertion.
B .  Both the assertion and reason are true and the reason is not the correct explanation for assertion.
C .  If the assertion is true but the reason is false.
D .  Both the reason and assertion are false.
Answer: Option A
:
A
The genomes of most eukaryotes are larger and more complex than those of prokaryotes. The presence of large amounts of noncoding sequences is a general property of the genomes of complex eukaryotes. In eukaryotic cells, DNA packaging is more complicated because they contain an amount of DNA that is much larger than that of prokaryotic cells. So eukaryotic cells which have complex chromosomes are composedof DNA-histone proteins. But in prokaryoticcells, histones are absent.
