Question

The probability that a card drawn from a pack of 52 cards will be a diamond  or a king is :

Options:
A .  `2/13`
B .  `4/13`
C .  `1/13`
D .  `1/52`
Answer: Option B

Here ,  n(S) = 52.

There are 13 cards of diamond ( including one king ) and there are 3 more kings .

Let   E = event of getting a diamond or a king .

Then ,  n(E) =   (13 + 3) = 16.

`:.`       P(E) = `(n(E))/(n(S)) = 16/52 = 4/13`
