the ratio of 3: 4, the numbers are :

Options:
A .  6, 8
B .  9, 12
C .  12, 16
D .  None of these
Answer: Option A

Let the numbers be `3x and 4x .` Then

`(4x)^2` = 8 x `(3x)^2` - 224   `hArr`   `16x^2` =   `72x^2` - 224  `hArr`  `56x^2` = 224  `hArr` `x^2` = 4  `hArr` `x` =2

So the numbers are 6 and 8.
