Question

The areas of two circular field are in  the ratio 16 : 49. If the radius of the latter is 14 m, then what is the radius of the

former ?

Options:
A .  4 m
B .  8 m
C .  18 m
D .  32 m
Answer: Option B

`(pi R_1^2)/(pi R_2^2) =  16/19`

`hArr     (R_1^2)/(14 xx 14) =  16/49`

`hArr  R_1^2 = (14 xx 14 xx 16)/(49)`

`hArr     R_1 = (14 xx 4)/(7)`

`hArr     R_1 = 8 m.`
