Question

In a division sum, the divisor is 10 times the quotient and 5 times the remainder. If the remainder is 46, find out the dividend.
Options:
A .  4426
B .  3426
C .  4336
D .  5336
Answer: Option D

Answer : Option D

Explanation :

Given that Remainder = 46
Divisor is 5 times the remainder
=> Divisor = 5 × remainder = 5 × 46 = 230
Divisor is 10 times the quotient
=> Divisor = 10 × Quotient
=> 230 = 10 × Quotient

$MF#%\text{=> Quotient = }\dfrac{230}{10} = 23$MF#%

Dividend
= (Divisor × Quotient) + Remainder
= (230 × 23) + 46
= 5290 + 46
= 5336
