Question

+Find the diameter of a wheel that makes  113 revolutions  to go 2 km  26 decametres.

Options:
A .  `4 4/13` m
B .  `6 4/11` m
C .  `12 4/11` m
D .  `12 8/11` m
Answer: Option B

Let the diameter of the wheel be  d metres.

Distance covered in 1 revolution = `(pi d)` metres

Distance covered in 113 revolutions = `(113 pi d)` m

`:.`      `113 xx 22/7 xx d = 226 xx 10`

`hArr    d = (226 xx 10 xx 7/22 xx 1/113)` m.

`hArr  d = 6 4/11`m
