The base of a parallel

Question

The base of a parallelogram is twice its height . If the area of the parallelogram is 72 sq. cm, find its height.

Options:

A . 6 cm

B . 7 cm

C . 8 cm

D . 9 cm

Answer: Option A

Let the height of the parallelogram be `x` cm.

Then , base = `2x` cm.

`:.` ` 2x xx x = 72`

`hArr 2x^2 = 72 hArr x^2 = 36`

`hArr x = 6`

Hence , height of the parallelogram = 6 cm.
