The average of 25 results is 18. The average of first twelve of hem is 14 and that of last twelve is 17. Find the thirteenth result.

Options:

A . 78

B . 82

C . 85

D . 90

Answer: Option A

Sol. Clearly , thirteenth result = ( sum of 25 results ) - ( sum of 24 results)

= ( 18 x 25) - [(14 x 12) + (17 x 12)]

= 450 - (168 + 204)

= 450 - 372

= 78.
