In which of the following plants, there will be no transpiration?
Options:
A .  Aquatic, submerged plants
B .  Plants living in deserts
C .  Aquatic plants with floating leaves
D .  Plants growing in hilly regions
Answer: Option A : A The loss of water from aerial parts of living plants is known as transpiration. Transpiration may be stomatal (80-90%), cuticular (3-9%) and lenticular (0.1%). Transpiration remain absent in submerged hydrophytic plants because stoma are completely absent in the leaves of the submerged plants, e.g Anacharis and Potamogeton.
