If each side of a square is increased by 50% , the ratio of he area of the resulting square to that of given square is :

Options:

A . 4 : 5

B . 5 : 4

C . 4 : 9

D . 9 : 4

Answer: Option D

Let the side be `x` cm and `150/100 x` = `(3x)/(2)` cm.

Required ratio = `(9/4 x^2)/(x^2) = 9/4` = 9 : 4
