Quadratic Equation

Fast trick to solve Quadratic Equation

Factorize the equation : 9x2 + 8x -1

STEP-1

First of all multiply constant term and coefficient of x2 that is 9 so -1 * 9 = -9
8
-9
(-1 * 9)

STEP-2

Now split the coefficient of x that is 8 in two part so that their multiplication equals to -9 and their addition equals to 8 so
9 * (-1) = -9 ( Constant Term )
9 + (-1) = 8 ( Coefficient of middile term )

STEP-3

If we have the coefficient of x2 then divide the value of x with the coefficient of x2
so the factor will be-
9( x + 9) ( x -1)

If we have to calulate zeros then-
9(x + 9) = 0 or 9(x -1) = 0
x = - 9 / 9 or x = 1 / 9
x = - 1 or x = 0.11111111111111
