NEET 2023 Eligibility Criteria (Expected):-

Age Limit:

He/she has completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year Undergraduate Medical Course. The candidates born on or before 31.12.2005 can apply for the exam.

Educational Qualifications:

The basic Education qualifications required for this are:

  • The candidate must have appeared for the 12th class examination which is considered as a qualifying examination to sit for the NEET. If any candidate did not pass the 12th examination, he/she is not eligible to take admission in Undergraduate Medical Courses. 

OR

  • Candidate must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English

OR

  • The Intermediate/Pre-degree Examination in Science of an Indian University/Board or other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry, Biology /Biotechnology (which shall include practical test in these subjects) and also English as a compulsory subject.

OR

  • The Pre-professional/Pre-medical Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English after passing either the Higher Secondary Examination or the Pre-University or an equivalent examination. The Preprofessional/Pre-medical examination shall include practical tests in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject.

OR

  • The first year of the three years degree course of a recognized University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology including practical tests in these subjects provided the examination is a University Examination and candidate has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology with English at a level not less than a core course.

OR

  • B.Sc. Examination of an Indian University provided that he/she has passed the B.Sc. Examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology)/Biotechnology and further that he/ she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.

NEET Exam 2023

1. NEET Exam 2023 is a national-level medical entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate medical, dental, and AYUSH courses.

2. The exam will be held in the month of May 2023.

3. The exam will be conducted in both online and offline modes.

4. Candidates must have passed Class 12th or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as their core subjects.

5. The minimum age required to apply for the exam is 17 years as on 31 December 2023.

6. The registration fee for the exam is Rs. 1500/- for general category and Rs. 800/- for SC/ST/PWD category.

7. The syllabus for the exam will be based on the CBSE Class 11th and 12th syllabus.

8. The question paper will be divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology).

9. The exam will consist of 180 objective type questions and the duration of the exam will be 3 hours.

10. The total marks for the exam is 720.

11. Candidates will be required to secure a minimum of 50% marks in the exam to qualify.




Exam Pattern and Syllabus of 'NEET Exam 2023'

NEET is an entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses in India. It is a national level entrance test and the students who are aspiring to pursue medical, dental and AYUSH courses in India have to appear and qualify NEET to get admission into the top medical and dental colleges in the country.

The NEET exam consists of a single 3-hour paper containing 180 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The paper is divided into four sections: Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. The number of questions from each section is 45 and the total number of marks is 720. There is a provision for negative marking in the exam and for every wrong answer, one-fourth of the allotted marks for the question is deducted.

The syllabus for NEET exam is based on the CBSE syllabus for 11th and 12th standard. It includes topics from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The topics covered in Physics include Measurement, Laws of Motion, Work and Energy, Gravitation, Properties of Matter, Oscillations and Waves, Electrostatics, and Current Electricity. The topics covered in Chemistry include Basic Concepts of Chemistry, States of Matter, Chemical Thermodynamics, Atomic Structure and Chemical Bonding, Solutions, and Chemical Equilibrium. The topics covered in Biology include Cell Biology, Human Physiology, Genetics and Evolution, Reproduction, Ecology, and Biotechnology.

The exam pattern of NEET exam consists of a single paper containing 180 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Each question carries four marks and there is a provision for negative marking in the exam. The question paper is divided into four sections: Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Eligibility criteria of 'NEET Exam 2023'

4. Qualifying Courses: The candidate must have completed a course from a recognized university which is approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI).

5. Number of Attempts: The candidate is allowed only three attempts for appearing in the NEET UG 2021.

6. Other Conditions: The candidate must be a citizen of India. The candidate should not have any criminal record and should not have been found guilty of any offence. The candidate should not have any gap of more than two years between the date of the qualifying exam and the date of appearing in the NEET UG 2021.

In addition to the above eligibility criteria, the candidate must fulfil the eligibility criteria laid down by the respective state/university in which he/she seeks admission. The candidate must also submit all the relevant documents at the time of admission.

Salary Structure of 'NEET Exam 2023'

The additional allowances of the NEET exam are also based on the rank of the candidate. The top rankers in the NEET exam get an additional allowance of Rs. 5 thousand per annum. The candidates with ranks between 1 to 50 get an additional allowance of Rs. 4 thousand per annum. The candidates with ranks between 51 to 100 get an additional allowance of Rs. 3 thousand per annum. The candidates with ranks between 101 to 200 get an additional allowance of Rs. 2 thousand per annum. The candidates with ranks between 201 to 300 get an additional allowance of Rs. 1 thousand per annum. The candidates with ranks between 301 to 400 get an additional allowance of Rs. 500 per annum.

Selection Process of 'NEET Exam 2023'

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is an all-India level medical entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to medical and dental courses in India. It is conducted for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in government, private, deemed and central universities across the country.

The selection process for NEET is a two-step process. The first step is the registration process which is open twice a year in the months of December and June.
